Le Daily-Bul is an idea, a review (1957-1983) and a publishing house founded by André Balthazar and Pol Bury in La Louvière, in 1957, on the wave of the Cobra movement and Belgian surrealism. Supporters of self-publication, Pol Bury and André Balthazar have published their works in the Daily-Bul review, where you will also find the works of Christian Dotremont, Pierre Alechinsky, Achille Chavée, Jean-Michel Folon and Théodore Koenig.
The catalogue of the publisghin house Le Daily-Bul counts more than three hundred titles. Most offer deluxe editions, and a standard print run rarely does more than a thousand copies. In this innovative production, poetry is king. The collection « Les poquettes volantes » (1965-1979) defines itself as « savoureux zakouskis de l’avant-garde. » Also prominent is derision, with the collection « Le congru et l’incongru », « Livres livres » (L’homme est bon mais le veau est meilleur), and also l’« Archéo-collection » (Contribution à l’étude et à la connaissance du potiron chauve).

The publishing house of the CIVA (Centre International pour la Ville et l'Architecture et le Paysage) specialises in architecture ? Belgian and international ?in urban and rural settings. It offers ? on its own or as part of a co-publication, in one or several languages ? beautiful books dedicated to contemporary and emerging architecture but also the great figures of the 20th century, as well as exhibition catalogues. Accommodated by the Province de Hainaut, the Centre is developing a series of activities and is offering a number of services in order to fulfil its main objectives: to help authors in the management of their works, including the distribution and promotion of their publications in the theatrical and literary worlds in Belgium and abroad, as well as the aim of promoting the circulation of playwrights in the context of international exchanges.
Amongst its activities, it in particular manages an active Théâtrothèque which groups together more than 900 manuscripts and works edited by authors of the Fédération Wallonie-Bruxelles. Since 2009, the Centre has taken care of the management of a writer’s residence situated in the park of Mariemont.

Founded in 1987 and based in Louvain-la-Neuve, at the heart of the university city, Academia is a publishing house specialising in human sciences being at the top. Its catalogue now consists of more than 800 titles, aimed at a varied public : professionals, teachers, researchers, students and those passionate about learning.
In 2011, the publishers have been consolidated by the group Harmattan. New authors came to enrich the catalogue, and new collections were created. In the digital era, Academia has also reviewed its techniques of production and offers, from now, its titles in both paper and digital versions.

It came to them from a sumptuous poem, entitled ‘Escorial II’, in which Pedro Salinas decided to ‘compter au lieu de rêver’ (count instead of dreaming) (en vez de soñar, contar…). And to add up, six hundred and twelve windows in the western face of the Escurial, five white clouds, three beloved people and twelve strokes of noon. ‘¡ Qué felicidad igual / a seiscientos treinta y dos !’ (What equal happiness in those six hundred and thirty two!) cries the poet, thus answering your question.

Ours, was to show that although the world has a really bad view of our city, we were able to create a truthful traditional Publishing Company with real sense of literature. And it is now become a reality since August 2014. A passionate author and a mini army of volunteers created LiLys Editions. We are committed to promoting Belgian authors, writing in French or English, in Belgium and abroad, in paper and digital format. Our authors are between 11 and 80 years old, and write novels directed to an audience of 9 to 101 in different genres such as young public, young adult, the life/Social chronicles and the Crime/thriller. Gradually, our catalog expands and brings together new talents, such as Sam.B.Sam, Brigitte Guilbau and Samuel Bury.
